If you add an exclamation mark, !, after a shortened link , it will provide you with information on where you will be redirected to if you decide to continue.
The API is temporarily disabled, but it will be available soon -- stay tuned!
This is almost always because shortened URLs are case-sensitive, which this allows for a higher volume of really short links. Copying and pasting avoids any potential issues!
tynee is a well-behaved link shortener and performs a simple 301 redirect, meaning any link authority is maintained as much as is possible.
This is most often because your IP address has been banned following use of software that automatically creates huge amounts of shortened links. tynee is not for spammers, so bans are applied. Any automated link shortening for legit purposes should be done through the API. Malicious links or links to illegal content can also lead to this.
Add .qr after your shortened link and you will be provided with a QR code. If you're feeling particularly lazy you can always shorten the link again.
The shortened links are permanent and there are no plans to change that. Generally only links to illegal content, malicious sites, or shortened links created by automated software have their links removed.
Provided the content is legal, the content isn't host to any malicious files, and the link isn't part of a link-chain for obfuscation purposes, there are no explicit restrictions, but tynee reserves the right to remove any links at will.
All submitted links are scanned by several malware detection services including Google Safe Browsing, and the submitter checked against blacklists, but tynee makes no guarantees about the safety or content of the destination as these measures are not fool-proof and this is a mainly automated service. If you are suspicious of a link, please use the preview service (by adding ! after the tiny link) before making your decision.
They're tiny link sausages!
